Downtime Notice: Live Realm Updates!

We have exciting news for Pirate101 fans!

Marleybone and Aquila enter the spiral Thursday Morning! Yeah!!!!!

One-Eyed Jack sent out a notice this evening to let us know that the game will have some downtime while the updates are applied to the live realm.

The Pirate101 game and website will be offline early Thursday morning (05/23/2013) for approximately two hours from 3:00 – 5:00 am US Central as we bring Marleybone, Aquila, and several game enhancements to The Spiral!

The Test Realm will also be making its departure at the same time until the next major update is applied to the game.

For sure want to check those final update notes tomorrow morning for a short list of new Crown Shop items being released with this update. (There are a couple really cool mounts that I think everyone is going to love!)

Companion Promotion – Wing Chun

The Musketeer’s Crane Companion

If you choose a Musketeer as your pirate class, the first person you meet on your way out of the stockade will be Wing Chun. Like you he was captured by the Armada and locked in the brig below decks.

You can visit our Companion Guide to find a list of all the companions available to each Pirate class within the game. Or return to our Epic Promotion guides for Pirate101 Companions.

When you first meet Wing Chun he is a Crane Student. You can learn much more about his abilities and skills from Pirate101 Central.

As you level up your companions they will occasionally reach epic promotion opportunities. Wing Chun’s first epic promotion occurs when he is promoted to Level 13.

After you applied training points and he reaches this level, he’ll tell you he needs to speak with you in the nearest Tavern.

In the Tavern he’ll explain more: “It is time! I must demonstrate my skills to a Master, in combat. If I can, I will become a Disciple!”

He’ll explain that even though we are far from MooShu, there is a legend of an Iron Monkey, a Monquistan who became a Monk and Master of Mooshu. Then Wing Chun suggests asking the Prior at Saint Bonobo’s Abby about this Iron Monkey.

This quest will require you to have access to Monquista.

We’re Having Technical Issues

Our Theme Customization Has Crashed

Don’t worry, if you’re looking for A Pirate’s Portal, you really are at the right place. It seems something happened overnight and our theme header has reverted back to the original default. We’re not exactly sure what happened, but we’ve reported the issue to WordPress (who is our blog host) and we hope to have it resolved soon enough.

We really like our site’s header so we hope it’s fixed soon!

Thanks to One-Eyed Jack for the Pirate De Mayo game codes! And to all the Pirate101 fans who entered our latest Give Away Trivia Contest since Friday!

It really is exciting to give away free game codes from Royal family at KingsIsle. And we’re very grateful to One-Eyed Jack for delivering the codes safe and sound to us here on the Portal!

I hope all our winners will send us a picture of their Pirates with their new Cool Ranch Gobbler Piñata housing item and maybe some shots of what they purchased with their free 2,500 crowns! We would love to share them here on the Portal and help you celebrate!

Our Monday Contest Day began at 6:30 pm eastern on Sunday – and closed at 6pm on Monday 05/06!

Monday’s Winners

Were chosen from the emails we received during the contest window. We decided to give everyone a chance and skipped the trivia question for this go round. Instead we picked the 1st and last emails received, along with 2 random emails selected from the rest to receive the final four (4) codes.
We received 18 emails. We picked the 4th and 12th emails for our random winners.
