Well some of you answered El Toro.
Don Rodrigo is El Toro.
But that’s not the answer.
Diego de la Vega was a big hint to who we were looking for.

This famous character was created in 1919 by New York–based pulp writer Johnston McCulley. The character has been featured in numerous books, films, television series, and other media. And his name in Spanish means “Fox”. And he was the secret identity of Don Diego de la Vega, a Californio nobleman living in Los Angeles during the era of Spanish rule.

The character has undergone changes through the years, but the typical image of him is a dashing black-clad masked outlaw who defends the people of the land against tyrannical officials and other villains. Not only is he too cunning and foxlike for the bumbling authorities to catch, but also delights in publicly humiliating them.

Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford, on their honeymoon, selected the story as the inaugural picture for their new studio, United Artists, beginning the character’s cinematic tradition.

He’s been played on TV and in Movies by such dashing actors as Douglas Fairbanks, Tyrone Power, Guy Williams, Frank Langella, George Hamilton, Henry Darrow, Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins, and most recently by Duncan Regehr. (Zorro on IMDB)

And who is this Masked Hero? It’s the on and only Zorro on Wikipedia!
