All Beta and Boochbeard Pirates wait with anticipation for Monday’s roll out of the live version of Pirate101. Last night at 5pm, KI brought down the Beta Servers for the last time before the official installation begins.
We rushed to get as much in as possible during those final hours. Victoria Bristol was running around Monquista trying to find the Monkey’s Paw. During the final battle the notification came up and we weren’t sure how much more we had left to achieve our mission. Ahhh! Continue reading →
Pirate101 Beta ends this Saturday, October 6th, 2012 at 5:00pm US Central. The game will remain offline until the morning of October 8th, 2012, which is when Pirate101 begins its Head Start week for those who qualify. (All Beta players qualify for the Head Start week–See you Monday!)
That means all characters and their progress will be wiped over the weekend. I hoped the wipe would take place today and the original Beta testers would be allowed back into the game Saturday morning for 2 days of play before the world gets involved. But it looks like they’re not going to be able to do that.
But not all is lost! In consolation check out the other messages from today. It appears this is one of the gifts KI will be giving to say thank you. So if you’ve been a Beta Tester (either through Beta Key or Boochbeard Bundle) you will receive a special Gift from Pirate101. Continue reading →
After the game update on Sept. 27th, there has been an issue with completing the Message in a Bottle quest. You receive the quest in Flotsom and discover that the Captain was shrunk with his ship and placed in a bottle with it. Egads!
Your mission is to save the captain from the bottle. Once you have completed all the required elements, you are sent to the Watermole Village on Skull Island to talk to the captain. You might see him at first, but when you approach him, he disappears.
Or you can approach him and talk to him for the first section of his conversation. He thanks you and says he has a treasure for you in return. After he finishes those first words he disappears before he can give you the treasure and complete the quest.
Dead-Eye Morgan said: “Maybe he went back into the bottle but no one else in the village will talk to me about it.” (If you don’t read the community Message Board on Pirate101, you’re missing out on some pretty good laughs). Not to mention some great ideas for getting around some of the remaining bugs in the game. Continue reading →
If you were excited to participate in the Ship Party on Wednesday and were disappointed it was cancelled, here’s you’re chance to find out why. Check out One-Eyed Jack’s Captain’s Log—Spiral Date 413802
Check out the updates that occurred Wednesday evening and see what’s been done to the game to prepare Pirate101 for its opening day!
And if you were like us and you showed up for the party anyway, you got a chance to see a lot ships hanging out in the Skull Island Skyway. It was truly awesome. I wish I had thought about it last night and had taken a screen shot to mark the event. But I didn’t think about that until today. Even at 7:30 there were 10 to 15 ships gathered around checking each other out. It was truly a neat thing to see.
Jack has mentioned that the party wasn’t completely cancelled, it’s simply been rescheduled. So stay tuned and look for the next gathering coming soon to a skyway near you!
Beta Pirates! A lot of great changes are incoming with the new build of Pirate101 scheduled for tonight, and this will make it necessary to say goodbye to our old characters and hello to new faces. While it is sad to say goodbye to our characters during Beta, we hope you will continue to enjoy exploring Skull Island and beyond as we draw ever closer to the launch of Pirate101.
