New Updates To The Portal

October 2019 Updates

The Royals at KingsIsle have rolled out some new content to the Pirate world this month. Which means we’ve also updated or added new information to our Pirate blog. We’ve added:

Skeleton Key Locations – update
To add Black Annie and Blightbeard to the locations where you can pick up Obsidian keys. Once you’ve defeated them in battle that is.
The World Of Dreams – update
We’ve added a map of the Dreamworld dungeon. And updated information for the new evil bosses: Black Annie Rackham and Vernimius Blightbeard.
The New Nightmare Bosses – Could this be a sign of a new game release?
The two new Obsidian bosses in the World of Dreams appear to be a roll-out for an update to come. I say this because right now, the highest level your Pirate and Crew can achieve is Level 70. And the new bosses will appear in these battles as Level 79 to Level 82. That makes me think a new game release is closer than we might think or know. It’s way over due in my opinion, but I’m hoping the wait will be worth it! Right now it’s near to impossible to beat these two new Bosses. By yourself or as a full team. We’ll have to level up, I think, to defeat Blightbeard and Black Annie.
Quest Journal – Black Annie Rackham
We’re working on the quest journal for Black Annie. It’s still in progress. We haven’t defeated her yet. Egads it’s a tough battle.
Quest Journal – Vernimius Blightbeard
We’re working on the quest journal for Blightbeard too. It’s still in progress. We haven’t gotten past the first 2 rounds of battle yet. Not as a single player or as a team! Egads it too is a tough battle. – updated 10/12

Skeleton Key Locations

Stone Skeleton Key

Wooden, Stone, Gold & Obsidian Skeleton Keys

Skeleton Keys are used to open locked doors around the Skyways that have challenging bosses inside them. They are special Housing Items, that can be found in your backpack under the Wall Hangings section of your Housing Items. Once you use a key to open a locked door, the key is removed from your backpack.

Introduced to the Pirate Spiral in August 2018, the Obsidian Skeleton Keys are needed to open the doors inside the World of Dreams. Occasionally the Royals at KingsIsle will also provide Skeleton dungeons for special events or occasions.

For instance, on November 30th, we were introduced to the Krampus Skeleton dungeon for the 2018 Yuletide holiday season. And three new Skeleton Keys were introduced to unlock content in the Krampus Lobby, using a Wooden Skeleton Key, Stone Skeleton Key, and a Gold Skeleton Key to enter dungeons based on your Pirate Captain’s Level. The Pirate101 Test Realm is Offline

We’re Closed … For the Weekend
September 7, 2018

I was having a good time in the Test Realm today. And I was looking forward to sailing to each world and finding the new quests that have been added this evening and through the weekend.

But alas, the Scurvy Dogs who cater to the Royals in KingsIsle have been chained to their grindstones and put back to work again.

The Pirate101 Test Realm is Offline

I Think We Broke It

If you logged in to the Test Realm this morning, you received this message:

The Test Realm is currently offline for the weekend and will be back up sometime on Tuesday. Thank you for testing the game, Pirates, and see you when the Test Realm comes back online!

For those of you new to the Test Realm, the whole purpose is for players to help KI put the new updates through their paces and find the issues BEFORE they are released in the Live Realm. We as players do something for KI and in return we get the chance to see what’s coming before the release. That’s the fun part!

But that also means we Pirates can stress the system so much, the Royals at KI may need to take the test realm offline to make corrections. It’s thankless job, but I’m sure the programmers will make their tweaks as quickly as possible and get us back online soon.

Dressing Your Pirate – Stitching

Stitching and Unstitching Gear

While creating your pirate captain, you have the opportunity to pick their style and dress them the way you’d like to look. this is the first Gear you receive for your pirate. But that pirate gear eventually gets replaced as you pick up new items through battles and purchase. You’re able to buy new gear with gold, which you collect as a reward for winning a battle. But you can also purchase gear through the Crown Shop. But that Crown gear will cost you real money. You can also collect gear through the Pirate 101 booster packs: the Prepaid Game Cards.

Our pirates have gone through a wide range of looks.

Zeke’s Quest: Find The Aquila Eagles

Prospector Zeke Quest – Aquila

Welcome to Aquila and the Achaean Way. The home of heroes and mythological beasts. Your first quest into this new world will send you to Nova Aquila. It’s a beautiful place with a vast array of art and music. Don’t you just love the big statues hovering over the dock and village?

Like most of the worlds, you’ll find Zeke has traveled here on another business venture. From the dock, run through the dock door (it doesn’t matter which one) and up the hill to the village. In the center of the isle, you’ll see a large pool outside the stone arches. Run around the pool and you’ll find Zeke standing near the cliff edge

He’ll tell you about his business deal with Dueling Dalton, who wants to establish the Hotel Aquila in Cool Ranch. Mr. Dalton would like some authentic decor for his hotel and he’s sent Zeke to find the Aquilan Eagles.

As with most Zeke Quests, you must complete certain tasks in some areas in order to be given a quest to enter another area where you can hunt down the next eagle. So don’t think you can get the quest from Zeke and then just set off to find them. And you don’t want to have to repeat a dungeon, just to get to the stone.

Below are the locations of the kings and a map for the area they’re in. Look for the X on the map. Well of course it’s an X, how else would you Mark The Spot for treasure in a Pirate world?
