Worlds In The Stormgate

Captain Victoria Bristol
My *Pioneer Buccaneer

Traveling Between Worlds

While you’re sailing through the spiral, you will come across different skyways within a single world. For instance, in Skull Island you’ll travel through the Skull Island skyway, but you’ll also visit the Tradewinds Skyway, Flotsom Skyway and the Port Regal Skyway. These skyways are all within the world of Skull Island.

During your travels you will come across Windstones that provide you with a key to activate Stormgates. Windstones were first discovered by the people of Valencia, who used them to travel through the otherwise impassable Stormgates.  They are powerful crystals that come in a variety of colors. And they are required to enter the Stormgates.

Stormgates are openings between worlds. These areas also have windlanes that take you from the gate of one world to another. And you’ll find beasties and enemy ships, along with a few treasures in these areas as well.

You’ll also notice a few world bubbles floating around in the sky of these stargates. Some you are probably familiar with. But some you spy, might be new worlds that have not yet been released by the Royals at KingsIsle.

As you’re traveling around the Stargates, don’t forget to look around. You might see something that gives you hint of what might be coming soon in the Spiral. Here’s a chart for the worlds I’ve seen floating in the stargates. Some I know and some I haven’t the faintest clue. Maybe you’ve seen these too. Continue reading

Pirate101 Test RealmWe’re Closed … For the Weekend
September 7, 2018

I was having a good time in the Test Realm today. And I was looking forward to sailing to each world and finding the new quests that have been added this evening and through the weekend.

But alas, the Scurvy Dogs who cater to the Royals in KingsIsle have been chained to their grindstones and put back to work again.

We’ll see you next week. In the mean time you might want to check out what we’ve seen and learned so far.  Visit our Test Realm Observations, we’ve made some updates today.

Pirate101 Test RealmI Think We Broke It
September 1, 2018

If you logged in to the Test Realm this morning, you received this message:

The Test Realm is currently offline for the weekend and will be back up sometime on Tuesday. Thank you for testing the game, Pirates, and see you when the Test Realm comes back online!

For those of you new to the Test Realm, the whole purpose is for players to help KI put the new updates through their paces and find the issues BEFORE they are released in the Live Realm. We as players do something for KI and in return we get the chance to see what’s coming before the release. That’s the fun part!

But that also means we Pirates can stress the system so much, the Royals at KI may need to take the test realm offline to make corrections. It’s thankless job, but I’m sure the programmers will make their tweaks as quickly as possible and get us back online soon.

Pirate Crews

Each Pirate class has its own set of companions that can become part of your crew. You can also buy companions from the crown shop, or in bundle packs. You can also acquire special companions through Pirate101 promotions. Some of these special companions are offered one time and if you don’t pick one up, you may never have a chance to acquire them again. But not to fret, you’ll probably like some of the new companions offered in the future.

Check out our Epic Promotion guides for Pirate101 Companions too.

Really Big Updates on 09/26

Pirate101 Beta TestKI Makes Several Small Tweaks and Adjustments

If you were excited to participate in the Ship Party on Wednesday and were disappointed it was cancelled, here’s you’re chance to find out why. Check out One-Eyed Jack’s Captain’s Log—Spiral Date 413802

Check out the updates that occurred Wednesday evening and see what’s been done to the game to prepare Pirate101 for its opening day!

And if you were like us and you showed up for the party anyway, you got a chance to see a lot ships hanging out in the Skull Island Skyway. It was truly awesome. I wish I had thought about it last night and had taken a screen shot to mark the event. But I didn’t think about that until today. Even at 7:30 there were 10 to 15 ships gathered around checking each other out. It was truly a neat thing to see.

Jack has mentioned that the party wasn’t completely cancelled, it’s simply been rescheduled. So stay tuned and look for the next gathering coming soon to a skyway near you!
