We Made Some Updates

A Pirate's Portal

What’s New & Improved
Summer 2018 Updates for A Pirate’s Portal

After 4 years of rarely posting on our Pirate Blog, we’ve made some new posts and updated some old articles as we return to the Pirating world. Last time we made any significant game updates, Marleybone, Aquila and Florenza hadn’t even been added to the spiral yet! So we not only needed to make some updates, we also wanted to share some new information too. Here’s what we’d like to highlight.

We’ve added a couple of Quest Journals for epic battles:

We’ve also included some new tips and hints for making the most of your Pirate gear:

And we’ve updated some old posts to add new information that extends to Level 70 Pirates:

  • Worlds In The Stormgate – Windstones & Skyways
You might find some new worlds floating out there in the Stormgates.
  • Prospector Zeke Quests – Finding Lost Things
We’ve completed Mooshu and added Marleybone and Aquila
  • Pirate Spiral Tavern Locations.
We’ve updated the Taverns for all current locations.
  • World of Dreams
We cover the new area in Scrimshaw, behind the Obsidian Door. Learn about the Skeleton Key Bosses and where you can pick up extra keys when you need them most!

And we’ve updated a couple of our most popular posts too:

  • Companion Guide – A simple list by Pirate Class
We’ve updated the Companion lists to Level 70
  • Epic Promotions For Companions – Quest Guides   Updated 09/2018
We made a lot of changes here. This post hasn’t been updated since it was originally posted. It needed a lot of help.
  • Companion Promotion – Old Scratch – Level 70 Promotion
Do you need help defeating the Dark Reflection Scratch? We have a few hints.

Finally we’ve also added some game hints for how to manage the loot your Captains pick up during their travels through the spiral:

Quest Journal – The Machine

The Battle To Face Kane

Your final battle with Kane takes place in Florenza. But of course it’s not as easy as walking in and facing him one on one. You know Kane isn’t going to play that game.

It’s not an easy battle, but it’s not as difficult as the Moo Manchu Tower either. Still it helps to be prepared and there are a few tips and tricks to winning this final Kane quest.

You don’t have to run around to find this Quest, it’s part of the storyline. You’ll be sent to find the creator of Kane, Gazpaccio. At the end of his quest, Gazpaccio will ask you to take him to the Machine Docks and the Razing Kane quest begins. The first step of the quest is to Escort Gazpaccio to The Machine Docks.

The Machine Docks will look familiar, you’ve had battles in similar areas of the Armada’s big machine. Thankfully you won’t have to fight your way to the dungeon sigil though. You’ve had help with that from an unlikely friend. Phule, the court jester. Phule has discovered that he too will be destroyed by Kane’s grand plan. So he’s decided to help you out.

Quest Journal – The Tower of Moo Manchu

The Tower of Moo Manchu

The Tower Battle of Agony

By far this quest is the hardest in all the spiral, at least as of this writing. There are 10 levels to get through, 9 of which have bad guys. And of course the top-level is where you find the biggest bad guy of all, Moo Manchu and his toughest minions. Most of the minions throughout the tower are level 55 and up. Moo Manchu himself, is level 65.

These are not easy battles and I have yet to get through the entire tower in less than 2 hours. Yes, I said 2 hours. That’s if all the players in the team are level 65 and up. There’s a reason most gamers suggest not taking on the Tower unless you’re over level 60, and some suggest waiting until level 65. More on that later in the team up.

But the gold you can accumulate in the tower, is staggering! With 4 players, you can find 150,000 to 200,000 pieces of gold. Or more, depending on how many Treasure Bath doubloons you and your team can drop during a battle. And then there’s the coveted badges! More on that later.

First, you have to find the quest, as it’s not part of the main quests through MooShu. And there are quests that you’ll have to complete first. Starting with the Manchurian Candidate and ending with defeating Moo Manchu in the Tomb of Kow Cheng.
