Beta Sneaky Victoria Bristol Levels Up

Upgrades Her Ship To The Crimson Hound

Yesterday Victoria completed a “boat load” of little quests around the Skull Island Skyways and Flotsam which provided her enough points to level up to a 12th ranked pirate. Yeah! I’ve been waiting for this for a while because at this level, Victoria can purchase a new ship!

She ran down to the ship shop on the Flotsam docks and picked up a beautiful Galleon that she named: The Crimson Hound. What better name for a wolf ship!

She rushed over to the Parts Vendor and picked up a few extras for her new ship too. She picked up:

Galleon Light Armor which boosts hull integrity.
Rigged Top Sails which boosts ship speed.
Honed Rudder which boosts maneuverability.
Nautilus Figurehead which gives fiery long and short range shot.
Copper Macehead Anchor which boosts fuel capacity and consumption.
Flame Bolt which provides a nice flaming attack, but also increases hull repair.
Reinforced Wheel which increases turning speed and ship speed.
Bronze Cannons which increase cannon damage.

It’s worth upgrading both your ship when you can, and your equipment. Each time you level up, check to see what you can upgrade with both your personal pirate accessories, hat, cloths, weapons and your ship and ship equipment. It’s not only exciting, but it makes battles easier and more interesting too!

The Laughing Tiger – A Light Skiff

Tonight while completing the quest for the FrogFather, Victoria meets Gaspard De Vole. It seems that Gaspard knew her parents and served with them on their ship. As a reward for helping him get free of the prison on the Presidio, he takes you to your parents ship.

Welcome to your new ..and real.. Pirate Ship!

Here in Beta, Victoria’s ship has been named The Laughing Tiger. I like that name! So I think we’ll keep it.

We Enter The Presidio

Bold Victoria Bristol has worked her way up to a Level 7 Pirate. Along with her level 5 companion and first mate Subodai, they enter the Presidio. The first battle dungeon in Skull Island and the Pirate Spiral.

Now if you’re not familiar with dungeons, these are areas that must be completed in one shot. You can’t leave and come back where you left off unless you’re sent out of the dungeon by a quest. Leaving and coming back before you have completed all the quests in the area will cause you to start each quest all over again.

So make sure you have plenty of time to work through a dungeon from start to finish.

We Enter The Pirate Spiral

Welcome to the Pirate Spiral. As you enter the world of Pirates, get familiar with how things work. Take some time to read A Pirate’s Life – Things to know BEFORE you start the game and The Pirate Spiral Worlds – What to expect and how to get around. These two posts will cover some basics that you may not know about Pirate101.

When you enter the Spiral you’ll be in the world of Skull Island. You will be in Avery’s Court. Here you will find the shops for this world, training teachers and ports to other areas in this world. Like Skull Island itself.

Zeke Quest: Marquis Mark And The Funky Bunch

Prospector Zeke Quest – Skull Island

When you first get to Skull Island, you’ll be sent on a quest that eventually leads you to The Kraken Skulls Tavern. You won’t get your first Zeke quest till you come back, but you’ll find Zeke standing near the bar.

When you become a level 4 Pirate, make sure you go back to the Tavern and check in with Zeke. He will tell you a tale about the lost items that you can help him find around the world you’re in.

Here on Skull Island, he’ll tell you about his friend Marquis Mark who is looking for his lost bananas. If you’re old like me, you’ll remember Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch. If not, you can go read about them.

So the Marquis, who is also in the Tavern, will tell you he is the biggest fruit explorer in the Pirate Spiral. He explains a shipment of his bananas have been scattered all over the place and he needs to find them before they rot.
