Getting Stuck Or Going Where You Didn’t Intend To Go

With the world accessing Pirate101 today many people are having issues with game lag. It can cause you to turn your ship in a direction you didn’t intend to go, or get in a battle you didn’t mean to become involved in. Lag time may not be the game itself, so make sure you’re checking your own PC too. There is a minimum requirement for equipment and set up to play the game.

One of the easiest in game things to check is looking at which realm you’re in. If you are in Avery, you’re there with a boat load of people. Consider changing realms to one that isn’t as busy.

For those that don’t know what this is, when you login to the game, you fall into a realm (a computer server farm) where there’s plenty of room (processing power) to play. By default in Beta, you’ll probably fall into the Avery realm. To switch to a different realm: Continue reading

Beta Work Around – Michael Stone

The Disappearing Captain Michael Stone

After the game update on Sept. 27th, there has been an issue with completing the Message in a Bottle quest.  You receive the quest in Flotsom and discover that the Captain was shrunk with his ship and placed in a bottle with it. Egads!

Your mission is to save the captain from the bottle. Once you have completed all the required elements, you are sent to the Watermole Village on Skull Island to talk to the captain. You might see him at first, but when you approach him, he disappears.

Or you can approach him and talk to him for the first section of his conversation. He thanks you and says he has a treasure for you in return. After he finishes those first words he disappears before he can give you the treasure and complete the quest.

Dead-Eye Morgan said: “Maybe he went back into the bottle but no one else in the village will talk to me about it.” (If you don’t read the community Message Board on Pirate101, you’re missing out on some pretty good laughs).
